How can Naturopathic Medicine help you?
During times of stress, life can feel like a juggling act and sometimes it can feel as though we have too much time on our hands (#physicaldistancing). Whatever the case may be, stress can affect our hormones, our digestion, and our brain's and body's other chemicals.
Naturopathic medicine may help you in providing support and solutions that can better health. The key in my naturopathic medicine practice is to look at the body and your life's experiences as a whole. Naturopathic doctors are trained to use a combination of complete and thorough assessments. The treatments range from nutritional, botanical medicine, vitamins/minerals (supplementation), etc. There is no silver bullet to good health in the long-term. However, a whole systems approach can help create an understanding on the ways stress can impact the mind and body, which has the ability to heal, with time. |

Hello!
I am a naturopathic doctor based in Toronto, Ontario. I enjoy reading and researching for my patients to help them optimize the way they feel. Our thoughts and our feelings guide our decisions, and life can sometimes be difficult (pandemic). My endeavour is to help you with what I have known to be the best strategies in all my clinical years of experience as a naturopathic doctor.
I realize these are hard times because of the current state of emergency. I want to help as much as I can so we can work together. I am available for a free 15 mins "meet and greet" on the phone or you can book now! |
Health and WellnessNaturopathic medicine uses an individualized approach. The visits are longer and an in-depth medical history is taken during the first visit. The naturopathic doctor assesses the person's health status and begins a thorough investigation with the patient's goals in mind. To treat, naturopathic doctors use: nutrition/diet, vitamins/minerals, botanical medicine, acupuncture and homeopathy. To assess, physical exams and refined functional tests (e.g. food sensitivity testing) are used to search and address the root cause(s) of the health issue(s).

What to eatFood and herbal/botanical medicine are intertwined in history and foundational for good health. In the not-so-distance past, our ancestors found methods of preserving food using minerals (e.g. salt, ash) and herbs (e.g. oregano, sage, thyme), drinking teas for health benefits, and fermenting foods was a way to make food easier for digestion. Evidence-based medicine is now showing the health benefits of some foods and botanical medicine that have been used for centuries. What we eat, when we eat, and how we make our food can make an impact in our digestion.

Importance of MovementIn traditional medicines across the world, movement is key - physically, mentally and in your digestive tract. Our mind and body move according to a natural rhythm. Discordance in that rhythm can produce signs and symptoms of "dis-ease" - an imbalanced state of being - which can lead to a chronic condition. Physical, mental and emotional states are linked and work together to keep you alive. And, a problem in one area can be associated with a problem in another.
